Back from my weekend away...

I'm back from Jakarta and feeling spaced out. The plan was to get some sleep on the plane on the way back - but I didn't plan on the plane breaking down on the runway and a family of obnoxious Australians whose Hitler youth looking kids were doing football practice on my seat.

Anyway!

Got lots done. Met Yanti's family, who are really sweet. Got the rings. Got measured up for my wedding clothes. And converted to Islam - which was a pretty amazing experience.

I also got to meet Yanti's kids...

The weekend wasn't long enough and I wish I could have stayed longer, but she is coming to the UK in March for a month :)

I picked up a load of games and DVDs while in JK... but I also noticed - old games don't die... they just go to Singapore airport!

Couple of Argonaut gems and...

...and an old Mindseye game. I like S'Pore airport... it's like a very cool mall. Anyway - I got to try and stay awake at my desk today before finally going home. 20 hour journey + 11 hour day = VERY VERY TIRED NIC.

MY CHICKENS!!!!

Just got this update from my sis, via GOOD GIFTS!!!

"Dear Good Giver

We went to India to see your chickens. The chickens and coop were given to women in the village, who as you see have little land, but can keep the chickens in their backyards. Note the different styles of coop!

The chicken owners are each going to give 120 rupee, 60 eggs and 2 chickens a year to a village health fund, which will provide health insurance for the whole village (not just those who have been given chickens).

They will generate income through the sale of eggs and chickens, and also, they told us, feed their children an egg a week!

They are a very poor community, with no land, so your gift of a chicken bank has really and truly transformed their lives.

A big thank you from them for giving them a brighter future.

Please give to those more needy... if you're reading this web page, you are truely fortunate in this world - despite petty debts and hardships. Think of those with nothing and consider giving to a worthy charity like Good Gifts.

Airmy-ellz...

I'm flying to Jakarta tomorrow night FOR THE WEEKEND to help do things for the 'medulla corp' wedding.

Miss my sweetie and thanks to my company handing out my first bonus in over 6 years (wait - that came out wrong... cos I've only been with Ideaworks for just over a year - you know what I mean) it's a weekend away for no money and we can get lots done.

Also got to say a HUGE thanks to Ideaworks and my team for understanding that I need a couple days off, even though the secret project (might get announced soon) is going crazy right now.

It seems like a year since I saw her :( Let's hope I don't get deported this time!

A good (or maybe bad) omen is I got my MDA Pro phone back from repair today. I smashed it when I was there over xmas. It's coming with me again, but this time I'll take a second phone as a backup :)

I'm traveling light. Just a carry on. But I still need to bring half the medulla corp 'essentials with me'.

1: Sexy Vaio
2: Sony PSP
3: Nintendo DS
4: Zen Extra
5: Sony PS2 (to get replaced cos it broke)
6: Digi-Camera
7: 1005648673 cabels to charge/connect all this crap together

Maybe I don't really need clothes??? Wait - I do cos I'm going to meet my future parents-in-law!! Can't wait!!!!

Yanti has been planning our wedding, but as much as I would have loved a Final Fantasy themed, Cosplay wedding (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3807670685656436429&q=final+fantasy) - I have to confess, the total rebuilding of Jakarta, the costumes, and the search for bunny eared ladies is just gonna cost too much :(

I'll be gone Thursday night to Tuesday morning (don't rob me). Yanti booked a very cool hotel. If it has internet I'll post... if not - see you the on the other side.
