RoBo-Ho...
The ultimate male fantasy takes one step closer to reality this week with the IREX 2005 expo in Aichi - Japan. Yes... for every geek who never got the girl, may I present the women that never says no.

And I've written a song to mark this special day.
"RoBo-Ho, she never says NO!
RoBo-Ho, she works in Soho
Robo-Ho, she's good at Tai-Bo
Robo-Ho, oh Oh OH!"
Music to follow...

Distracting PC...
Post the move to Medulla Corp HQ V2.o I'm planning on getting one of those
Shuttle media cube thingys for the front room. I wonder if I got this case, would I spend more time looking at it than the TV?

I'll help clean up...
I'm so late to this party that I may as well do the bottle recycling, but I've finally got around to spending some time at 'myspace.com'.
I've had an account for ages - just never really used it. So - if you want to add me I'm:

Medulla Corp HQ V2.0...
I'm not 'in' the new 'HQ' yet - but hopefully sometime around the end of November/early December I won't be the Littlest Hobbo anymore.
Moving house is a chance to begin again in terms of style/furniture and all that.
I've been thinking about what I should do with the place... then I found this linked off of
Music Thing.

Yup - that'll do ;)

STOP THE PRESS!!!
Robo-Matthau distorts space and time!!!

Either Bush is REALLY TALL, or the other guy is REALLY SMALL, or MORE LIKELY - ROBO-MATTHAU CAN DISTORT SPACE AND TIME WITH HIS FLOATING POINT MATTHAU UNIT!!!

Foe-Toes...
As
Suanie well knows - I like blogs and things where there isn't so much writing, and lots of pictures (SORT IT OUT SUANIE!!!). I think my friend
Ying has the best site for this. She's got a great eye for images, and in the words of McD's...

See you soon Yingtao!!!

P.S. Just kiddin' Suanie... we need great thinkers too.
The Horor...
I don't normally read horoscopes, but every now and then I find my eyes moving across a free newspaper and they just happen to be there. Most of the time I simply ignore them, however some days I guess I am vainly looking for guidence on how to deal with the numerous things going off in my life.
Today was one of those days. This is what my horoscope (16th November 2005 - Metro) read.
"Inventing an Easter Egg in the shape of a Christmas Tree that can double as a firework may capture a few markets, but is it a plan? Get real, get the deal!"
Erm... okay... thanks - I will?!?!

How does one become...
Part 2 in our quest for understanding just how some people get the most nuts jobs. The 'Hand Models' thing was a hit with people looking for info in google. Shame it had no worthwhile content at all. So going along with that...
How does one become a multimedia research scientist at Sony Labs?
I have no idea - but they get to make weird and totally useless (but extrememly cool) things like this...

...click on the pic for a movie of this thing.
It's basically Lego meets Cubase. I mean - where do they even advertise for people to come up with these kindas things? And maybe they should also hire this guy...

Tell me - tell me - tell me...

Free Crap...
Sometimes they hand out free crap at Euston Station. Regular readers may remember the free 'Weeds' cookie I got a few weeks back.
This morning I was heading for the side exit when I noticed someone with a fish stuck on their head handing out free crap. I took a detour and bagged myself whatever he was handing out.
The scale of how crap this bit of free crap was didn't hit me until I got to work.

Click on the image for a bigger version.
Basically - I've tried this out on a few people at the office. With this piece of crap in their very own hands it takes them about a minute to be even able to read the font, let alone understand the message. Not exactly what you want out of some advertising.
I'll now leave this treasured bit of free crap in your hands...

Pocket Abbey Road...
Since I picked up my new phone, I've been wondering if there was any kind of music software that I could run on it so I could compose (okay - just mess around with it) on the train. The other day there was a link at the ever wonderful
Music Thing about some music software for the Palm range.
In the comments someone mentioned some software called
Phoenix Studio for Pocket PC's. I decided to download the demo and have a play.
After a few minutes I had bought the full version. Why?
This thing is great. It's like a pocket version of ReBirth. You get 3 synths...

...which are simple, dual osc 303-esque devices which have an almost Commodore 64 feel to them.
There's a drum machine...

...which with a little bit of a stuggle you can load your own samples into.
And finally a mixer...

...where you can adjust the relative volumes and add effects like delay, distortion, and reverb.
Sequencing is pattern based. Program each part, sequence then together in a linear time line. Simple pimple.
I've only just started to play with this software, but
HERE is the first track I have written with it. It's a very simple, very repetative slice of electronica... but remember - I wrote this ON MY PHONE!!!
More to come I'm sure.
