I think I'm turning...
Yay! I finally fully memorised hiragana.
I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to crack the last set of symbols. By last set I mean 70% of he symbols, but there's a system and an order to it all so you only really have to know about 40% of the symbols and the others are cunning variations.

So I can write out the hiragana 'alphabet' - but can I random access it from memory... this is what kept me awake the rest of the night. I'd say I'm about 70% random accessed up.
I've had about two hours sleep - nothing to eat for nearly 24 hours... nothing to 'drink' for a week. If I start power napping then my transformation to Nihon-jin will be nearly complete...

I’m so clever...
Okay – so I’m not really, but inspired by the amazing sushi lunch my friend Kae prepared on Sunday I decided it was time to MAKE MY OWN SUSHI.
I mean – we’re talking basics here, and I used one of those ‘I feel like sushi tonight’ kits with the rice, the mat, the ginger etc. But hey – you still have to ‘make’ it.
So it was just sushi nori, but hell – I did it. And it wasn’t half bad for a first attempt.
Made too much though, so sushi for dinner as well tonight :)

No real news...
Haven’t blogged in a while because there hasn’t really been much to report. I’m sure I could enthral you with my stories of my kitchen cleaning etc.
I have decided to stop drinking. Been drinking a bit too much recently, and I think I made a bit of an arse out of myself last night. So – no more alcohol for a while for Nic.
Software news. Abletron Live version 4 is out (http://www.ableton.com/). I’ve had a quick play with the demo and I have to say I’m impressed. I’ll have another play – but I got a feeling my aging copy of Acid might finally get ditched. I’ve been using Acid for years but if they can’t be bothered to update the program – time to move on.

I broke my Dreamcast... I plugged in the PS dance mat to play some DDR on it and I guess it was just too hardcore (or I was too heavy). Now none of the joypad ports work... time to check Ebay... a sad day for my console-chans...

Possibly the best day I’ve ever been paid for.
6:00am – Wake up. Erm… narrr…. Sleep
8:00am – Wake up. Oh okay. Check mail. Ho Hum...
9:00am – Cook breakfast. Cleaner turns up. Shoot the breeze for 20 minutes.
9:20am – Set off for ‘work’.
10:00 am – arrive at work after yet another Japanese audio lesson.
10:05 am – Drag PS2 into board room and try and play ‘Umjammer Lammy’.
10:10 am – Try and find an RGB scart cable.
10:15 am – Try Umjammer again.
10:20 am – Drag new TV into board room.
10:25 am – Sit BBG (

10:27 am – Get told to turn it down.
10:50 am – Nearly finish Umjammer Lammy. BBG’s mind is blown.
11:00 am – Just sit around.
12:00 pm – Announce that it’s time to leave for Colindale and Sushi.
12:34 pm – Kate mysteriously pulls off of the motorway.
12:40 pm – All is well – she just needed petrol.
13:15 pm – Arrive at Oriental City (Colindale).
13:20 pm – Sit down and start eating Sushi.
13:35 pm – Listen in on a conversation in Japanese and understand 90% of it!!!
14:45 pm – We’ve eaten about all the sushi we can.
14:50 pm – Big gay coffee’s in Costa.
15:10 pm – Head off to the Sega dome and play some games.
15:30 pm – Bored. Decide to head back to the office.
16:45 pm – Stop off at my house to play some pinball and let BBG look at my collection of ‘Gothic and Lolita Bibles’.
17:25 pm – Arrive back at office. Nice five and a half hour lunch break.
17:30 pm – Have go at BBG for telling me about an art exhibition at Stanley Kubrick’s house that ultimately turns out to be rubbish.
17:35 pm – Talk about foreign films to Jools.
17:45 pm – 'Aquire' 512 meg of RAM.
17:50 pm – Talk to Crunty about jobs at NEC.
18:05 pm – Decide to go home. Steal a King Size ‘Lion Bar’ on the way out.
Can you guess that Starsky and hutch 2 has been cancelled by Empire???
