Gamelan Shokbreker

At the end of last year my wife and I went to a concert by 'Gamelan Shokbreker' at the Union Chapel in Islington, London. We didn't really know what to expect. We thought it was just a Gamelan concert and we all know Nic loves Gamelan so we got tickets.

Turns out 'Gamelan Shokbreker' is a collaboration between some traditional Indonesian Gamelan musicians and some Norwegian Jazz/Electronic musicians.



I only realised this when we sat down and I saw a laptop running Ableton Live and some SPD pads.

Anyway - the concert was totally mind blowing. The best live music experience I've had. Now I noticed that when we left the building there were a bunch of BBC trucks around the venue and I was wondering if they had recorded the concert. Well - I kinda forgot about that until today!
