Harajuku day...
I went to Harajuku today with Aya-chan and Ikue-chan. Harajuku is a little bit like Camden mixed with Regents Street/Soho in London. The main high streets have big fashion labels. The side streets have more interesting stuff. On Sundays people dress how the hell they want and meet up outside the Subway Station.
Hai - okama desu.
I felt kinda weird asking them if I could take photos - and I don't want to be too otaku, so we headed to the temple.
Saki for God. I wanna be a God :) Motto motto saki onagaishimasu!!!
Sugoi temple!!!
There was a wedding at the temple... so beautiful! I asked Aya and Ikue to marry me - they declined :P
Speaking of which - we tried to go the J-Pop Cafe today but it was closed for a wedding!!! That is twice I have not been able to go!! Hopefully third time lucky!!!
I wish them happiness for now and for the future.
We then headed to Yoyogi Park to listen to some bands and watch some Rockers strut their stuff in the 'mushi atsui' heat!!
We needed Ice to cool down before listening to the bands.
These guys were fun. Kinda pop punk.
The singer in this band really kicked.
I fell in love with the drummer in this band and her kawaii Yamaha drum kit!!
'Akira the Mummy' wa henna hito desu yo!
This guy danced around with a Yamaha toy synth (forgot the name now - but it was the box version of the DJX) and painted!!
"Japanese Pretty Girls no On-Parade!!"
It all started to clash a little as the population of bands grew...
...but I fell in love with these girls. Kawaii desu ne. I so love geeky girls!!!
"Japanese Pretty Girls no On-Parade - Parto Ni". They were surrounded by otaku :( I haven't talked about the otaku at TGS/Cosplay day yet. It is too distrubing :(
The bands/artists just set up and do there thing. I wish we had this in London. Would be great to walk around Hyde Park all sunday listening to bands. Our band (Wayne, Barns, Gina, and me) HAVE to go play Yoyogi!
Wasn't all guitars and obscure techno performance art... there was some Hipu-Hopu too...
...and the retro-acrobatic stylings of the Japanese 'Backstreet Boys'.
Finished the day off with some dinner. Kyo wa sugoi! Like yesterday. I can feel that it is going to be REALLY hard to leave again.
Tomorrow I am meeting my friend Chisako (C-Chan). Maybe if I can get her drunk we will go do Karaoke and sing Elvis songs!!!
SUGOI!!!
Nic.
P.S. Yes - I have been hanging around Aya (SUGOI!) Chan too much :)

ive never seen any hip hop/breakin and electronic stuff there before...though i did play mime tennis with a mime artist there once... (though i hit the ball out of play)...
if anyone plans to goto tokyo, make sure you stay over a weekend and visit harajuku...its fantastic...much more interesting than anything going on in camden (punks getting drunk on the bridge, and lots of guys trying to sell dope on the other side of the bridge)..
Say, 'Hi' to Chisako-chan for me.
Is it true she got engaged?
Really interesting stuff they have in Japan. Wish they had something like that in aussie too.
Waaaaaaaa- she blew me out Dabs... Maybe it was a 'boy friend' headache ;) We all know I can't be trusted :)
Nic.
hi nic, it was a great weekend, so much fun going around tokyo with you. i'll show you motto sugoi places next time ;) i hope you'll finally make it tonight! >j-pop cafe
Come back Aya-chan! I want to marry you! :-)
[Oh boy! Hope she has a sense of humour, or else I just scared another Japanese girl away forever!] :-)
It's not that you can't be trusted Nic ... but what red blooded Japanese girl wouldn't fall for you! I'd keep my Japanee GF away from you too if I had one. Only because I know she wouldn't be able to control herself! :-) The poor things. They are only human though. :-)
sugoi sorry dabido-san, i'm so in love with my husband and his name is orlando bloom ;))
Hey Nic, I'm surprised Aya didnt take you to a maid cafe(cute girls dress in maids uniforms and greet you and serve you like you were their rich master, very suspect but could be a laugh), she keeps trying to take me but she chickens out. Aya, send Nic some webpages, I'm sure he will enjoy looking :D I saw some girls in akiba once with maid uniforms targetting all the akiba-kens(nerds to us), how callous!, they just put their heads down and walked faster to the nearest sofmap, poor guys. I only realised who they were after I'd got through the gates. Aya wants to start a maid cafe with cute boys(shes a SUGOI 'lolicon')
And yes, she's orlando bloom(broom in Japanese...) crazy. No pictures of me on her desk, but tonnes of him :'( kawaisoo
I realise now that Mr. Broom is to be worshiped... I think even I am in love with him. Maybe it's in the Japanese sugoi air.
Asuka-chan (friend in the UK) wanted to go to Maidu Cafe in Aki, demo she is not coming to Tokyo till the 24th and ima sugoi leaving :( Sugoi bad.
Next time we ALL sugoi go!
Nic.
(how is my Aya impression?? Sugoi good??)
zettai ayachan poi(so like aya), i always know when I'm in trouble(like now), when she doesn't say sugoi anymore, hmm, except sugoi baka, sugoi kirai, boke, otaku, etc etc B/
Nic - That is Asuka-chan from Southern UK?
Tell her I said, 'Hello' and everything.
(Hope she remembers me). If it is a different Asuka-chan ... then never mind!
It's a different Asuka... that other Asuka was a fake ;)
Nic.
Hello everyone,
My name is Cody. I came to American when I was around 4. I lived here for 12 years now. So yeah I am 16 currently. I miss Japan so dearly. I wish I could talk to some Japanese people. When I turn 18 I might go back to Japan tokyo. I want to start up my own band and jam out with dudes. I grew up my whole life singing and listeing to hardcore bands. My favorite band is "DIR EN GREY". I already got a band already, But i need people.
