monthly update?

Haven’t blogged in a long time... seems to be how I start all of them these days. Life’s been having lots of little mini dramas lately. Made a friend recently (online) who I really enjoyed taking to. Now they’ve disappeared – seems like there’s something missing.

The internet is weird like that. So great at bringing people together – but so easy for people to stray and turn to vapour. I guess it’s harder for me because it’s easy to track me down through domain lookups and all that lovely stuff. But I don’t ever really feel the need – so I guess it’s okay.

I live in hope that my friend will return. Friends forgive. Regardless.

On a lighter note – work is going well. Still can’t really talk about what I’m doing, but should be able to do so in the New Year. The company I’m working at just release Colin McRae Rally 2005 on the N-Gage to glowing reviews. And rightly so too – it’s a mini-masterpiece.

Finally got around to doing a new piece of music. It’s up in the music section so go take a listen (it’s called ‘I’m Deadpan’). Hope to do some more soon.

This kinda stuff always happens when I start work... I end up writing music and screenplays. Really would like to start work on a new screenplay and I’ve had the idea for ‘Everybody’s Special’ for pretty much a year now – buzzing in my head. Maybe in the New Year I’ll start work on it.

Looking forward to the return of Wayne (http://www.ploom2.com) to these shores after his 6-month break in Hong Kong. We got tickets to the Pop Will Eat Itself gig in the New Year – so more stuff being planned for 2005.

Hope 2005 picks up a little. 2003 and 2004 have been pretty tough going. Could do with a change of pace. Things never seem to quite go my way at the moment. I keep waiting for karmic payback. I’m due some.

Been catching up on ‘Dead Like Me’. Been watching the first series on my smartphone on my daily commute. What a great series. Looking forward to cracking open season 2.

Haven’t been watching I’m a Celeb – and I’ve pretty much lost interest in X-Factor. I did with Pop Idol about this time last year. Seems I never really like the final few that much. Except Will Young was great on the first season.

I bought Half Life 2 – but I’m holding off on really getting into it cos I have that stuttering sound bug. They say it’ll be fixed soon. I hope so. From what I have played of it – it’s pretty amazing. And beside the sound bug it looks pretty damn fine on my PC. A major achievement considering how crap Doom 3 looked.

Picked up Need for Speed Underground 2 but haven’t really played it. I’m not sure I di the whole free-roaming city thing. It’s a racing game. Let me race. I’ll give it a fair crack of the whip at some point.

Haven’t seen any great movies, but that’s cos I’ve not really been watching movies. I have so many Asian movies to catch up on. I really need to focus and start working through them.

Okay – enough for now. Will try and Blog more. Promise.
