Frozen in Time
The sole survivor of the recent spate of pet deaths at maison de la Nic is ‘Pesto’. Pesto is a Kakariki (a parakeet from New Zealand). Pesto’s lived with us for a long time and has free flight around the house.This can sometimes causes a few problems. Pesto is – inquisitive shall we say.
His new trick is flying into the refrigerator while the door’s open. The bird’s crazy I tell ya. Here’s the top 3 places I’ve found him when he’s disappeared.
3: Flower Vase. Dived in headfirst and couldn’t get out. Had to tip him out of that one.
2: Bag of bird food. The other week he jumped into a bag of bird food and got stuck. He looked like he had been shrink-wrapped.
1: Kitchen unit. Somehow he managed to get stuck behind a kitchen unit. I had to rip the back off if it and try and grab him. Took a couple of hours to work out where he was. Kept hearing these scratching sounds and the odd tweet but couldn’t work out where they were coming from.
No he’s investigating the fridge – and can guess what’s going happen. Maybe he can tell me if the light goes out when you close the door!
